Abstract

An assessment of bacterioplankton and bacteriobenthos quantity indicators of the Kazanka River mouth area in summer period of 2020 was carried out. Based on bacterioplankton total number water quality, according to the Roshydromet classifier, was assessed as class II quality, i.e. «moderately polluted». The ecological state of the water body, based on the bacteriobenthos total number, was classified as a transitional between «normal» and «risk status». During the summer, there was a slight increase in bacterioplankton total number and biomass in the river water and in decrease of bacteriobenthos total number and biomass in sediments.
